So many days seem to be ordinary days. But I have often found a miracle peeking out as I rummage through what we experience. I wish to share true tales that shine a light on hope, belief in love, and that give evidence that God is in heaven and knows us. "Back at Porter Ranch" is the setting for many life loving events shared with "Cowboy Incredible", my husband Doug. Stories of Ranch, Faith, and Family are for strengthening, remembering, and giving credit to miracles in ordinary days.

I'm a Nurse who would rather be growing things, playing the piano, stirring up something to bring smiles, writing a story, or...riding a horse.I am creating this recipe blog for the love of family, good food, and fun stories to remember. These recipes are the ones I know well, use often, and most likely I have changed them to fit my liking and my style. My style is rather simple. I like growing a large garden and either bottling or freezing the tomatoes, peppers,corn, fruits, jams, salsas and storing various squashes. I usually cook with my storage of staples, such as flour, sugar, oil, spices, dried beans of several varieties, rice, and wheat, etc. The recipes I use feature simple ingredients, but there is nothing simple about the taste and texture I strive for. Enjoy the process in your own kitchen!
